1. Select the Correct Split Drive Anchor

Choose a split drive anchor that matches your application requirements. Verify the anchor diameter and length are appropriate for the load and the concrete thickness. Shop split drive anchors from Springs Fastener.

2. Gather Required Tools and Safety Gear

You will need a hammer drill, a carbide-tipped masonry drill bit sized to the anchor diameter, a hammer, and a vacuum or compressed air. Wear safety glasses and hearing protection during installation.

3. Mark the Hole Location

Position the fixture or mark the desired anchor locations directly on the concrete surface. Ensure proper spacing and alignment before drilling.

4. Drill the Hole

Using a hammer drill, drill a straight hole into the concrete at the marked location. Drill to the recommended embedment depth for the split drive anchor.

5. Clean the Hole

Remove all dust and debris from the hole using a vacuum, compressed air, or a brush. Clean holes help ensure proper anchor expansion.

6. Insert the Split Drive Anchor

Place the split drive anchor into the hole with the head flush to the concrete surface. Make sure the anchor is seated straight in the hole.

7. Drive the Anchor to Set It

Use a hammer to strike the anchor head until it is fully seated. The split pin expands inside the concrete to secure the anchor in place.

8. Final Inspection

Confirm the anchor is firmly set and flush with the concrete surface. The split drive anchor installation is now complete.
