How to Install Wedge Anchors

1. Select the Correct Wedge Anchor

2. Gather Required Tools and Safety Gear

You will need a hammer drill, a carbide-tipped masonry drill bit sized to the anchor diameter, a hammer, a wrench, and a vacuum or compressed air. Always wear safety glasses and hearing protection.

3. Position and Mark the Hole Location

Place the fixture in its final position and mark the hole locations directly through the mounting holes. This ensures proper alignment during installation.

4. Drill the Hole

Using a hammer drill, drill a hole straight into the concrete at each marked location. Drill to a depth slightly deeper than the embedment length of the wedge anchor.

5. Clean the Hole

Remove all dust and debris from the drilled hole using a vacuum, compressed air, or a brush. Clean holes are essential for proper anchor expansion and holding strength.

6. Insert the Wedge Anchor

Insert the wedge anchor through the fixture and into the hole. Lightly tap the anchor with a hammer until the washer and nut are flush against the fixture.

7. Tighten to Set the Anchor

Tighten the nut using a wrench. As the nut is tightened, the wedge expands inside the concrete to create a secure hold. Do not over-tighten.

8. Final Check

Ensure the anchor is firmly set and the fixture is secure with no movement. The wedge anchor installation is complete.
